Tartan Day and our April Dance

On Saturday, April 6, 2024, the House of Scotland will hold it’s annual Tartan Day celebration in the afternoon, followed by our spring dance in the evening. The events are in Balboa Park, near the International Houses and the Air and Space Museum. Tartan day runs from Noon to 4pm, and our spring dance starts at 5pm.

Spring Dance

Our Spring Dance starts at 5:00pm on April 6th in the Balboa Park Club –  a beautiful venue in Balboa Park, just behind the international houses. The dance has an early evening start to fit well with our Tartan Day Celebrations. View the Spring Dance Flier and the Cribs for the Dance. Here is the Spring Dance MyStrathspey link to the dances, for videos, diagrams and more.

Tartan Day Celebration

The House of Scotland is hosting a celebration of all things Scottish on April 6th. See the Tartan Day Flier for more info. This is a fun event which includes traditional food and drink, dance, music, children’s activities, clan booths, live entertainment (including the House of Scotland Pipe Band), and so much more! This event runs from Noon until 4pm. Our Scottish Dance group will perform some demonstration dances in the afternoon and will have a booth as well. Please come along and say hello. Our Spring Dance begins at 5pm, so to make a complete day of Scottish events we encourage you to come to San Diego early and immerse yourself in Scottish culture for the day.

The Tartan Day celebration runs from Noon until 4pm, and our dance begins at 5pm. You can enjoy a full day of Scottish events in the park! We encourage you to come to San Diego early and immerse yourself in Scottish culture. If you do plan to spend the whole day, some snacks are available at the House of Scotland, or see the list, below. Of course San Diego itself has many paces to eat.
