We will be holding a Summer Ceilidh this August in La Mesa. A Ceilidh (pronounced “kay-lee”) is like a barn dance but with a Scottish twist, a bit like square dance to Scottish music.

Doors open at 6.30pm, with dancing from 7 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served after the dancing. Note that there is no experience required—instruction is provided as you learn the dance, and then the figures are called out while dancing. Dress is casual. The most important thing is to be comfortable, wear shoes and clothes you can move in. Please bring clean, soft-soled, non-marking flat shoes (no heels). Do not wear flip-flops, loose sandals or stiff, ballroom dance style shoes.
There is an optional entrance fee, donate what you choose/can afford! Suggested donation: $10. Parking is available in the Softball Lot across the street (on the corner of Memorial Drive and La Mesa Boulevard.) From there it is a short walk across La Mesa Boulevard at the signal.
